Haronid Javier, Chief Operating Officer, The Americas
Haronid Javier was the Vice President of Student Success & Retention and formerly Global Operations Director for the Americas, Vice President of Development; Director of Foundation Relations for the organization at this initial appointment. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Before joining Global Tassels, he has worked with various non-profits in California such as City Year San Jose, AmeriCorps, and Public Allies Silicon Valley. During his tenure at City Year, he worked to bridge the gap in high-poverty communities between students needs, and the students own school resources. He was a team member helping to increase graduation rates across the country, and changing the lives of the students they serve. In Public Allies, he assisted with reaching their mission to advance new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits, and civic participation. He worked closely with the Billy Defrank LGBTQ Community Center as their Youth Program Coordinator before coming back to New York City to work as a Project Manager Assistant for Northeast Brooklyn Development Corporation.
Haronid is a graduate of Manhattanville College. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in World Religions in 2003. Yogi is currently working on his Masters of Public Administrations with a focus on Non-Profit Administration. In his downtime he enjoys playing video games. He is a big supporter of military families and organized dinners for “get togethers”, he also enjoys reading books and watching Netflix.
